The machine-driven LABONFOIL was designed with the goal of making cheap and transportable laboratories able to act with sensible devices to diagnose a good array of diseases.
Part of a ecu project consisting of thirteen partners in eight countries, the LABONFOIL relies lab-on-a-chip technology and uses sensible cards and skin patches paired with a transportable reader. The cards and patches were created victimisation foil, rather than Si, to stay prices low, and tests have proved the devices to be sturdy and reliable. The foil-based cards will notice totally different chemicals and biomarkers, and also the card reader will then send the information to smartphones or computers via a wireless association.
