Facebook says Libra is out of its control. But Libra's overseers are a web of Silicon Valley insiders

In its effort to bring Libra to life, perhaps the biggest hurdle Facebook faces is a lack of trust. It says people don't need to trust Facebook to use Libra, just the independent Libra Association that will govern the cryptocurrency. But the Libra Association features many Silicon Valley companies with close connections to one another.
